Soybean strengthens your spleen/stomach and reduces water retention

Soybean

Japanese
Daizu (大豆)

Soybeans are recognized for their high protein content, which is crucial for the body's repair and recovery processes. In TCM, soybeans are valued for their ability to replenish energy, making them beneficial for fatigue recovery.
In Yakuzen, soybeans are considered a beneficial food for individuals with a weak spleen or stomach, which are important organs in TCM.
The spleen is a central organ in TCM, responsible for digesting food and liquids, transforming them into Qi (vital energy), blood, and other essential substances, and distributing them to the rest of the body. A healthy spleen ensures proper digestion and energy distribution.
A weak spleen could cause various symptoms, including indigestion, bloating, poor appetite, and fluid retention. These symptoms indicate that the spleen is not effectively processing food and fluids, leading to stagnation and imbalance in the body.

Tofu and Abura-age (thin deep-fried tofu) are commonly used for Japanese dishes and are both products made from soybeans.
