Sauteed Chinese yam for increasing kidney Qi

Chinese yam is known as a superfood in Yakuzen and helps you recover from fatigue due to Qi deficiency.
This dish is easy and quick to make and a perfect combination with bonito flakes which also support your kidney functions.

Ingredients (2 Servings)

1/3 Chinese yam
A handful of Bonito flakes (Katsuobushi)
2 tbsp Soy sauce
A pinch Salt
A pinch of Black pepper
1 tbsp Olive oil

Method

Step 1 - Wash the Chinese yam and cut into 2cm wide. (Do not peel.)
Step 2 - Heat a skillet and add the olive oil. 
Step 3 - When hot, place the Chinese yam and sear for a few minutes on each side until browned.
Step 4 - Sprinkle the salt and black pepper.
Step 5 - Pour the soy sauce down the side of the skillet and cook for 30 seconds to a minute. 
Step 6 - Turn off the heat. Serve on the plate and sprinkle the bonito flakes on top.
