Is perilla leaf good for detox?
Perilla leaf
Perilla leaf, also known as shiso or Japanese basil, is a fragrant herb from the mint family that’s widely used in Asian cuisine. Green shiso leaves are often paired with sashimi, not only for their vibrant flavor but also for their detoxifying properties and ability to cleanse the palate.
In addition to green shiso, there’s also red shiso (aka shiso), which is rich in antioxidants like polyphenols and anthocyanins. These compounds are known for their anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting benefits. Homemade red shiso juice is a refreshing summer drink that supports digestion and provides a natural energy lift.
