Japanese glutinous rice may help ease chronic diarrhea caused by coldness in the body

Japanese glutinous rice

Japanese
Mochi-gome (もち米)

Japanese glutinous rice is mainly used to make dishes like mochi (rice cakes) or okowa (sticky rice dishes). While regular rice is considered neutral in nature, glutinous rice is warming—it helps warm the body and has long been used as a food to boost energy, aid recovery from fatigue, and relieve chronic diarrhea caused by coldness in the body.

Nutritionally, it's almost the same as regular rice, but since glutinous rice contains more amylopectin, it cooks up with a much stickier texture.
