Codfish is a popular ingredient in Japanese home cooking, often featured in hot pots with a variety of winter vegetables. One of my favorites is “Yu-dofu,” a simple dish that highlights the delicious flavors of its ingredients.

From a nutritional standpoint, codfish is rich in taurine, which can improve liver function and even help you recover from a hangover. In Yakuzen, codfish is valued for its ability to replenish Qi and blood, making it an excellent choice for restoring energy and combating fatigue caused by Qi deficiency.
